Rust

The formation of rust is a chemical process that involves the breakdown of the metal’s structure damaging the integrity of the surface.  However, with its auburn tones and beautiful feel, rust can add a textural element to any room or furniture piece.

In order to achieve this rust effect,  base coat of paint in a rust-like colour is needed and once the base coat is dry, apply a layer of a special hydro paint that reacts with water. This paint will create a natural-looking rust effect when sprayed with water. You can use a spray bottle or a brush to create different patterns and textures. Once the paint is dry, you can seal the effect with a clear coat to protect it and make it last longer. This technique is a great alternative to using metal powders, which can be messy and difficult to work with. Plus, it allows for more creative freedom and customization for your client’s specific project needs.
